upping my CPU

hey all i have a duron 750 and wanna upgrade just my cpu do u know how high i can go?

is there a 1.8 duron?

it depends on your motherboard. look in the manual or look it up online to see what options you have as far as upgrading your cpu

Unless it is an OEM, with no POST screen, copy down the long line of characters at the bottom of the first screen, go to www.motherboardhomeworld.com , enter the numbers they tell you they need, and you will find all you need about maker and the like. Manual will be available at the site you are handed off to.

It will tell you what the board will go up to. It may actually go that high, at least it may after a BIOS flash. And it does not have to be a Duron. Any socket that would take a Duron will take an Athlon.

be warned, you might have to 3 finger salute it a few times to copy all the characters, if your pause or control keys don't freeze the screen.

Depending on the board you should beable to put in an Athlon XP.
