In re-author mode, the main movie is 3.5 gig with no compression at all, then in full disk DVD mode the main movie is 5 gig with no compression. which is the orignal main movie size?

  2. I was confused a bit, but it's going to be adding in the audio sources for full disc mode and maybe they're not there/disabled in reauthor.

Explorer? I've thought the main movie size should be what it is in re-author mode?

Explorer shows you the actual file structure of the DVD,of course it's more accurate. DVD Shrink analizes the vob files not the ifo files,I find it to be very inaccurate in it's size estimates.

Does your OS have a file browser? In Windows 98 it's called Explorer.

In Windows, from the desk-top, open on "My Computer", then either click on the DVD drive with the movie in it (this may cause the movie to start playing, depending on your settings - if so, try-), or left-click on the DVD drive with the movie in it, and then right-click on "Explore".

I've thought in re-author mode only contains the main original movie, nothing else. I was just curious why the main movie in re-author is 3gig then sometimes in full-disc-dvd the main movie is like ..5gig?

    I think your just confused.

Never seen a main movie greater than 4.3 GB in DVDShrink since it's impossible by default. It's usually something like 2-3 GB with a %50 to 75% compression. Extra's and menu's take up a lot of space on most current releases. DVDShrink by default only deals with a 4.3 GB DVDR image. Movies like Dances With Wolves Directors cut don't like shrink (it's a true DVD18).

The only time you get the true file size is in re-author mode (99% of the time barring multi-angle).

I think your disk is a DVD9 and is about 5 GB. I think the main movie is 3.5 GB. That means the titles are probably around 350 MB , which leaves about 1 GB+ for extra's? That or you have about 8 audio tracks you aren't selecting???
