I have a question about software like Nero6 and DVDxCopy and similar ones that are out there... do they let you copy copy protected DVDs? I read somewhere that DVDxCopy didn't work for copy protected DVDS but DVDxCopy's website says it copies everything over including special features.

dvdxcopy DOES copy encrypted dvd's, but a word of warning, there are better ways of doin it then dvdxcopy. Try dvdshrink and then burn with nero 6 or recordnowmax. dvdxcopy blows and most all on this forum will agree. Why pay money for xcopy when dvdshrink is free? And wayyyy better.
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0
