    Does anyone know if the Philips DVDR70 is Region 2 compatible only or will it run Regions 1 + 2?

    If you bought your recorder in UK it is likely to be region 2 only.
    I bought a multi region from Richer Sounds.
    But normally they are just region 2

    If you look at DVD Hacks on the left you can put in DVDR70 and it will tell you how to make it region free.
    I have seen posts about this and it seems you need a particular All4One remote to be able to hack it.
