    hi there!

well guys i got a odd problem. the task: avi to vcd.
    source: video - framerate 23.976, audio - mp3
i used Tmpgenc for encoding video.
    settings:
    NTSCfilm (23.976), CBR 1150, etc ( i clicked "load")
after film has encoded i try to view it on home dvd player (Lg dk377 - no transcoding). each 5 or 6 secs i get abrupt movement, i mean the picture goes smoothly between those "jerks" and then jerk happens.
one day, i tryed to make the settings myself. i set up all the settings like
in NTSCfilm template but i forgot about system tab and left there the "MPEG1 system (automatic)" value. then when i tryed to burn my cd with Nero 6 i got message "the source file not vcd standart" and i pushed the
"encode" button. when i saw my film, encoded with Nero i didnt see any jerks, i mean all film was going smoothly. the only one "minus" was a picture quality.
So i dont understand what can make Nero that Tmpgenc cant?
MOre over, i tryed then MainConcept - the same result - jerks.
in my case the only one program able to help me it's NERO?

NERO settings : by default, encode resolution PAL.

i have a TV with non progressive analysing, PAL. May this setting or fields order in Tmpgenc affect to end result?

    thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    thx duet for advice.

but i have solved my problem. the problem was that my dvd player (Lg dk377) doesnt support such a framerate (23.976).
so, now i need to convert the source framerate to 25 fps and code it in Mpeg.

hope this thread was helpfull to somebody.

    Andrew.
