  1. Hi, I now use NEC 1300 to burn my DVDs, the movies plays fine before I burn them onto DVDs, but the final product is always the same, video and audio are out of sync. My problem is drift, where they start in sync but get progressively further apart as the movie goes on.

I use TMPGEnc to convert the movies(avi) to MPEG 2, then I use Ulead Movie Factory(1 and 2)to burn the DVD. Before I used Micro Advantage's DVD burner to burn DVDs using the same way and it worked just fine, but one day it won't read or burn anymore, so I got a new NEC. Can anybody please tell me what I did wrong or what I should do to fix the problem? Thanks.

For sure, it's not a burner problem - it just makes little spots on the surface of a writable disc where it's told to.
I suspect the problem is earlier on. Do you go from PAL to NTSC or vice versa? Are the AVIs 100% (not "Did they play on the computer from start to end") error free? Did you scan for and remove bad frames? Do you keep the mpeg at an acceptable bit rate (~6000 kbps would be more than adequate when going from AVI source)?
Sync probs are a pita, but are mostly caused by going from PAL to NTSC (or the other way around) or bad source material.

  3. Where is your source ?, did you rip them yourself or download them ?, downloaded movies are normally riddled with errors.
