I made a backup copy of Lilo and Stitch, it plays fine on my DVD rom and my DVD rw but when i play it in my standalone DVD player it starts off ok but the picture and sound gets very jumpy and glitchy and then i get green and pink vertical lines going through the screen.
I used DVD shrink to re-author and then Nero 5.5 to burn. I used the tutorial for both programs on this site http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/DVD_Shrink_v3_beta5.htm http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/nero
I've got a Panasonic RV62 standalone DVD player
Running WinXP, 256 mb ram, 40 gb, Athlon xp 2600
I would appreiciate any help
I don't know wether it's a problem with the re-authoring, burning or that my DVD player is usless. (BTW my DVD player does support DVD-R)
I'm Claire the newbie BTW, nice to be here.

use ANYDVD from www.slysoft.com and back up the hole DVD and see if that work's. Some DVD might have problem's.

Sounds like a media issue.
What kind of blank discs are you using?
It is NOT a reauthoring problem or a burning problem or it would be present when you play it in your ROM drive too. The drive only plays what it sees, so evidently if it's playing it fine, it's seeing it fine so the correct info is on the disc...but your stand alone is not...it's bad media.
Try some RitekG04's I bet those will solve your problem.
Using DVDshrink is fine it's not a program issue...and even if it happens to be a prog issue the problem is not DVDshrink.
You are running kind of low on RAM you might want to bump that to 512 MB as soon as you get a chance. (although I don't think this is your problem either) -
I used Verbatim blank DVD-R's (in an orange case)
I thought they were supposed to be a good make. It'll all come out in the wash..... -
When I had this problem it turned out I needed a firmware update for my Lite-On burner 411s, once the firmware was updated I haven't had any problems since.

It's definatly my crappy Panasonic Rv62 (paid £170 for it 2 - 1 1/2 years a go) thats the problem, it says it plays DVD-R, does it heck.
Anyway thanx 4 the advice. It'll all come out in the wash.....
