  1. I have "lots" of questions, as I am definetly a "newbie". But I have successfully burned a few copies of some DVD's we own, and also have screwed up a few in the process. This question pertains to using ImgTool. I had used DVD Shrink to get my VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS files. I was following one of the guides which used ImgTool to create the ISO file prior to burning with DVD Decrypter. My problem occured when trying to select a target file(within ImgTool), I found the folder I wanted to use, but the program wouldnt let me add an "iso" extension to my filename. First I didnt think it would matter, but when I go to burn it in Decrypter, there is no "iso" on the end of the file, so I didnt try it. I didnt want to mess up another DVD. Why wont the program allow me to add the needed "iso" extension to the file, any ideas?
    thanks,

  2. http://mrbass.org/dvdburn/ is my guide using ImgTool Classic..and coujo has excellent help on his homepage. Not sure why it won't let you append an .iso. Perhaps it's already there but not showing because (guessing here) you aren't showing files of known extensions in windows explorer perhaps.

When you click to save it it already suggess MOVIE.iso (for instance) and you just have to pick a location.

Also if you want all of this automated with dvdshrink check out

  3. thanks, Ill read your guide,,,,I was following two differant guides, but dont remember the authors. I have copied a movie yesterday using "autoshrinkISO","DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter",,worked well...This VIDEO_TS file was one of my unsuccesful attempts last week, so thought I'd try it again, with the ImgTool. I'll go check your guide out.

I just downloaded the newer version of ImgTool, and surprisingly the iso extension appeared like it should,,,I'll let you know in a bit, how successful I was in burning the DVD.

UPdate: ImgTool worked fine, then automatically changed to DVD Decrypter for the burn,,,something odd happened first,,,,received "error" message that the disc didnt contain enough space,,had "0" sectors? I thought that was kind of strange, as it was a new disc, right out of the box,,I selected to continue anyway, so will see what happens...I'm useing LiteOn411S with firmware FSOH(if that tells you anything). the saga continues...

  4. SUCCESS!!!! The copy came out super!!!! Dont know what I was doing before, but I downloaded the newest version of ImgTool, and followed your guide, and it worked! I still dont know why the DVD indicated "0" sectors, possibly some "flaw" within the firmware FSOH?(just grasping at straws)
    thanks,

  5. ImgTool = burn with Nero API (requires Nero5/6)
ImgTool Classic = burn with DVDDecrypter the .iso created with mkisofs.exe

    just to clarify
