I have been looking at getting the fuji TAIYO YUDEN 4X DVD-R MEDIA and the maxell brands from reading on these boards. Great media, but the extra protective layer from these TDKs sounds great!
Just wondering if they are just as good as the Riteks, fuji, and maxell dvd-rs?
Don't want to spend $40 for a 10 pack and here they suck. lol. I've read some reviews on the dvd media section on the left and the TDK armor plated dvd-rs sound reliable. Just hoping to get any more views on this media.

Unless you eat your dinner off of your discs, or cut carpet on them to save your hardwood flooring, I'm not convinced they're any better than other discs with a coating on the top - like inkjet printables, glossy white topped etc.
I have yet to write off a DVD due to top surface damage (CD-R's are another matter), and I tend to use regular media with just a plain old silver top. Just put them back in the case when you're not using them and don't whiz them around the place like a frisbee and you should be OK, right ?
