Thumbs Rule when using (argh...) I-Author :
- Use 8.3 file names ever ever ever -
Right , after some time , Iīve learned that GPF that occurs when you are using the mux tool from I-Author is because some file (audio, video or subtitles) arenīt 8.3 naming rule compliant.
Good. But now , I have a new trouble and request for help :
After Iīve muxed ONLY Video and Subtitles using I-Author,
I go to mux the AUDIO with the resultant file , using BBMPEG , because this way I can cut in files that fit in one CD.
But things donīt happen. The BBMPG warn at error box this :
"filename.mpv is not 11172-2 or 13818-2 video stream"
Need to know that filename.mpv is the file generated by
I-Author , with extension changed from .mps to .mpv to be accepted by BBMPG.
There is a I-Author or BBMPG Guru to give me the answer ??
Thanks !!

mps are not like mpv
i think you can not switch to bbmpg
to do the mux or cut process

There is a utility to convert mps->mpg and vice versa. You can try it. (mpgtomps.exe I think)
I don't know if this utility handles correctly OGT.
Bye MarioB79 -

Hi :
I do convert , but BBMpeg warn again the same message and refuses to do a mux.
Testing using TMPenc , the file was accepted and the mpeg
tools are functional,I can do a Mux and a Cut , sync troubles instead (audio delayed).
Iīll try find a newer BBMpeg version and wait for any help.
ThanxZ for ALL.

Bad news :
According mpgXmps īs author :*
" bbMPEG is only able to multiplex elementary streams.
After you've multiplexed OGT & Video, you got already a multiplexed stream (which is not an elementary stream)".
I want know if somebody actually can do a (OGT+Video) muxing using i-author and a [(OGT+Video)+ audio]using a
BBmpeg or other tool an how.

It can't be done alb1n0. If you want subtitles you have to multiplex with either I-Author or philips svcd designer. But in either case you can only mux one cd at a time because there is no way to cut the file afterwards.
You have a couple options.
1)from now on encode movies by vobs. What I do is rip into chapters with smartripper. Then I figure out how many chapters can go on each disk and encode in groups. Then you can easily rip the subs off of each group of chapters and author each disk separately.
2) Encode the whole movie and cut it into cd size parts. Make your subs. Now find the last line in your movie for cd1 and then find the corresponding .bmp file. Go into your .txt file and find that .bmp #. Erase everything after that point and save as a new file. Use this for cd1 and it will be perfect.
Now go back into your original .txt file and erase that .bmp # and everything before it. Find the last line of disk 2 and repeat the process, erasing everything after that so that you only have references to cd 2's subs. Now heres the bad part. You have to go through all the time markers and change them. What you have to do is subtract the total playtime of cd1 from each entry. Its a big pain in the butt, but it will work.
I prefer to author my movie all at once, but when using subs its just too difficult.
