I did some searching here and couldn't find my answer. Either this is a really simple question or a really difficult question.

I created my DVD's on DVD+R media [Fuji Specifically]. My DVD-ROM drives can read/play the movie on two of my three computers.

I also created AVI's of the original footage (in addition to saving the Analog Tapes). When I copied the AVI's to the same brand DVD+R media, the only DVD-ROM drive that would read the media was on the machine that I copied them on. That machine is about four years newer than the one that would not work.

My question is should DVD-ROM players be able to raed the media and the AVI files? Is this a problem of likely "old" drivers or something else?

My inention of archiving the original footage as AVI files is to preserve the original on some non-tape media in case I get 10-15 years down the road and need or want to re-edit the footage. I would copy the AVI from the DVD+R on to the hard drive and begin editting.

Thank you
