  1. Hi all, new member here.

    I have several AVI files (DIVX and XVID) and up to recently I have been using TMPGENC to convert them into Pal SVCD at2500bitrate, then importing those into DVDLAB, transcoding the audio to dvd format and bobs your aunt, I have a nice DVD with multiple files and menu.

    For some reason, I use TMPGENC and all looks and seems ok, I end up with an MPEG file, I import it into DVDLAB and transcode the audio, again all seems ok, then after i am done I compile the DVD in DVDLAB, burn it and no audio plays on the final burn?

    I cant seem to find a method to get the audio to work.

    Can anyone suggest a better method for converting avi to mpeg at a higher bitrate than standard svcd, that will give me the mpeg movie and audio in seperate files, prefferably in dvd format.

    Thanks for any help I get.

    why dont you convert to dvd directly?? instead of svcd? you can choose low bitrates for dvd also...and low resolution(352x480).

  3. I would have but when I try that using TMP, I find the file size dramatically increases. If I doSVCD, the quality is good, and the size means I can put several movies onto a single DVD.

  4. I take it back, have just started again using pal dvd and set bitrate to 2500 and its the same size as svcd, so will try it.

    On a slightly different note, when the Xvid has 2 audio streams, German and English, how do I destinguish whisch one I want

    Use virtualdubmod and extract the audio track to wav.
    Open the avi
    Streams->Stream list
    Select the stream you want
    Click Save wav
