  2. Fiercekid84,

They can have menus, but I'm not sure if they can be interactive as in motion menus etc. Here's just one guide:

You'll find many more guides to this here:

Under the author section, look to making a "complex" VCD or SVCD.

  3. its possible to do it with vcdeasy but ive never found it to be easy - pun intended, nero vision express 2 will also let u use animated thumb nails on menus and use background music, but it has its own problems

  4. i've used nerovision express but still found it not interactive enough such as being able to use the arrow buttons on the remote to navigate in the menu for chapter selection and being able to use the skip forward/backward buttons during playback for the next/previous chapter which i believe vcdeasy allows for that nero doesn't. but then what i can't see that's available in vcdeasy are those features that nerovision express has such as the animated thumbnails, background wallpaper and music, layout of the chapters, etc.. it doesn't even look like you can title the chapters which kinda sucks. can someone confirm if that's true?

You can simulate DVD like buttons in a SVCD or VCD but only with still menus. Basically they work the same as on DVDs but you have to use the next and previous track buttons to maneuver rather than the directional buttons.

For motion menus all you can do is overlay #'s on top of the different selectable items, and then select them via the # keys on your remote.

Read my guide to see how to do this, and download the test disk and try it on a HARDWARE dvd player to see how they function. If you go to the language selection menu in the test disk you will see an example of the "dvd like" selectable buttons which are available on still menus. You can even rip the subpictures from a DVD, if that is your source, and use those, so they look exactly like the DVD does.
