Why does pinnacle studio 7 only let me capture 17 min and 55 seconds at a time? And Is there a way around this?
I intend on using my DV camera as a passthrough to capture all my old VHS tapes. (they are all 2 hours long) I would like to put it on capture and leave ( not come back every 17 minutes)
If I upgrade to version 8 is the capture time still limited?
Thanks.

My money is on FAT32 being the problem.
Considering the size of DV (circa 13gb/hr) that sounds like it's stoppingcapture at 4gb.
Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
I'm using XP (fat32). I'm trying to get a full quality capture, so I can edit it later.
Can I capture with different software and import it into Studio 7? -
Limit with FAT32 is always 4 GB nevertheless which capture programm you use. So you need to capture in pieces of 4 GB or change to NTFS.

Thanks, I understand now.
I have a computer on order with separate harddrives, so maybe I'll put NTFS on the storage drive.
I'll do a search and see what the difference between Fat32 and NTFS.
