  1. Hey, recently i burned the two towers with my Lite-on 411s using dvdshrink 2.3. when i get to the decrytion part it finishes but in the middle of the second pass it gives me this:

    hread failed
    reasonata error (cyclic redundancy check)

when i first opened the dvd and unchecked some of the audio and subpictures i didnt need i noticed one of the audios and subpictures said it was unspecified.ive burned all my dvds so far without this problem.if anyone recognizes this problem or has any advice please reply.

  2. whenever i have encountered this problem (backing up or even simply copying over personal matter) it ususally meant their was a problem reading a certain point on the disc. You can see this problem in some rippers: lets say you rip at 7x, then at one point it just totally drops to 0.1x and you see it barely reading the disc at all. this means their is a problem with the laser reading this specific point. Can you try the disc in another drive or do you only have one? or can you copy the whole film to your drive first then run dvdshrink and try it that way?

When i get that error one way i fix that is start up the movie with your dvd program such as powerdvd and quick scan thru the picture from beginning to end quickly and if it goes ok then retry ripping.

  4. okay ive tried both of your solutions but no dice, so i did re-author and sucessfully ripped it with out menus and such.now im having some issues burining the disk.i started out using nero 5.5 and kept getting errors so i switched to CopytoDvd.The first time i used it it worked fine with a diff movie, but with this movie it is incredibly slow.i started it at 7pm one day and i came back at 4pm the next day and it was still going.in the menu 4x is checked. with my first successful burn i used the blank dvd-r that came with my burner.now im using a different media.should i update my firmware?if anyone has any advice please reply

If you are trying to rip a copy then the problem is most likely a poor burn with the media.
