  1. Had problems with crappy discs in the past, looking for some that will give me no playback problems. Found these 2, 50 packs of riteks, but are they the same product. If not which one should I go for.

I want to use these discs for transferring a load of DV home movies onto DVD, so quality and longevity is a must. If there is someting better out there that anyone can reccommend (without a silly price tag) I would be interested in your opinions.

kinda hard to tell --- each dealer you listed does not say if they are OEM ,A or B grade ....

well they DO list in other ads on their sites the A grade and overprint OEM brands ... at least for some .. (second link you posted)

  3. How would you tell that BJ_M, is it printed on the disc, or is that data stored on the disc itself.

  5. So there is no way of telling ?. So even if they were B grade, someone could sell them as A grade and you could not tell the difference ?

.......Ritek Grade thing, Ritek has 4 levels Grade Discs,
Super Grade. Grade A, Grade B, Grade C.

Super Grade goes to OEM like disturbed1 pointed it out.
Grade A is sold to in US by Ritek USA
Grade B and C are sold in an unofficial way, that means some retailers buy from some Taiwanese vendors directly and label it as Ritek disc.

  7. So do the grades pertain to a certain level of quality, or is it just geographical/vendor dependant.
