From my experience the black level bug of the E30 only shows up in other players. Not when the recording is played in the E30. Will a recording made on E30 play back with correct black level in an E20? Picking up a E20 cheap to do RAM to DVD-R recording and want to know if I'm gonna need to go through the AVT-8710 twice to keep black level correct. I want to use the E30 to make the RAM and the final DVD-R because of the FR mode otherwise I'd just make the RAM in the E20.
1. Record Ram on E30 and edit
2. Play RAM back in E20 to E30 onto DVD-R

Simply put, the E-20 has the same problem the E-30 has. Any video recorded using these devices would have to be darken slightly using the AVT-8710 or some other device to get the correct brightness.
Most people would not be concerned with the end results, if you're not picky then the bightness issue will not matter. I also heard that the E-20 doesn't handle fast moving images well, lots of artifacts.
