  1. I've read through a few posts already covering this topic and all have replies with, "Use MenuEdit." Well, MenuEdit is pretty much useless unless you pay the $16.50 registration fee to get the full featured version. I'd like to know if I can get the same "Jump to non-deleted button" result of MenuEdit from a freeware program like IFOEdit? I want the end-result to be that the DVD user is unable to navigate to/select a specific menu button.

I have a few DVD9's I've chopped down to DVD5's and all that's keeping me from burning them is this button issue. Right now, the user can select non-existent content from the menu, which causes the player to search for a few seconds then return to the menu. Not a big deal, but it would just make the fact that the content is not available a whole lot clearer, if the user can't select it from the menu at all. Thanks for your help.

Back in the old days, we had to use a hex editor and manually edit each NavPacks button's data. We're talking by the thousands and you can't miss one especially if the menu was a motion menu. You could be sitting down for more than a hour clicking and editing away. If you are into mental pain then that's the route for you. When MenuEdit came along and automated the whole thing and with previews, it was a dream come true. Trust me, that $16.50 is worth every penny and more. It's not like you are shilling out $50. The registered version delivers what it claims.

roflmao , 'Dewrin the Waar!' springs to mind and you are right as it does take ages and it's not worth the effort and time using the 'free' method

Menuedit is worth the money as it can do more than just jump to a non deleted button. It took me ages before I took the ME plunge

    :EDIT: removed

Definately worth it, if you're going to all the trouble to make custom back-ups.
