Hello. Recently, I downloaded a clip and converted it to MPEG. I then burned that clip to VCD. Then I deleted the MPEG file from my computer. Now, I want to put that same clip in another VCD that I'm going to make. Is there a way to get back that clip?
This is what I did. I inserted my VCD into the CD-ROM drive and then went into the MPEGAV folder. I copied the DAT file for the clip and then pasted it into another folder. I renamed it to MPG extension and then went to properties and unchecked "read-only". Only the "archive" is checked. I played it in WMP Classic and there are some video errors here and there. Why is that? When I watched the VCD with the clip on TV, it had no problems!

I dont think a .dat is a true mpg file I think it has extra info added. You might need to convert it. VCDeasy has a built in tool that will do it. I think its called Cdxa2mpeg. I dont think it has to convert it just strip off the extra info added. Then it should play fine and be a true mpg.
