When capturing form cable TV or s-video, dark wavy vertical lines are seen. These lines are off and on and i've tried almost everything to get rid of them from drivers (ATI & Omega) to funky settings & configurations. I've tried different kinds of capture software and i've even installed the card in another box but the lines will not go away.
How could such a video card ($400 at the time of purchase) be rated as #1?
How can i get rid of these wavy lines? Is there a better alternative?

Almost a month has gone past since i posted this question. Nice to know that there are helpful people in this forum...
How about a little help on this issue i'm having with my 9700 AIW PRO!
A friend said he read that these the wavy lines is due to the RF shielding being thinner on ATI card not made in Canada. Because of the shielding being thin, AIW cards are suseptable to interference.
Any truth to this? -
A still picture of this would help. If you think its interference, it can come from a number of places. But first, when the lines appear, do they appear on the source (from the tv signal) or is the signal good there, but not when it goes thru your computer. If thats the case, then at least you know that the interference is not caused from your source. Thats good.
I suggest you move the computer to a different location from your source and see if this helps. Eg. if your computer is next to your tv, the power supply is what is causing the interference most likely cause of showdy shielding. Another culprit, is an overloaded power strip where your comp is connected, as well as tv, vcr, etc. Supply power directly. Or you have floresent lights that are causing some trouble. Turn them off if possible.
Or if your really unlucky, its something in the local environment that is causing the interference, your next door neighbors appliances or maybe some crackpot teen using his own unregulated can-tenna to boost there wireless signal.
You can start with these suggestions since you have not given more detail about how your setup is setup? -
This will happen if I put my cell phone next to the computer. I can only imagine what it does to my brain.
