if you want to keep menu, just shrink all the extras to still pictures and remove all extra audio. then all thats left is menu, movie & very low quality extras.

  3. What if it still doesn't fit? I mean I had to compress Lord of the Kings - Fellowship of the Ring to Compression 8 without anything else to make it fit.

You can't re-author and keep menus. To keep menus download the latest version of Elby CloneDVD. It will work for 30 days, then you need to pay and register it.

  5. Why dont you try dvdshrink 3.0.5 (latest beta release). I have backed up LOTR 1 and 2 (non extended versions) using the deep analysis option and it works GREAT!!!

I think that the compression method in the latest version is better than the 2.3 version.

Well, try DVDShrink 3.0.5b instead of 2.3, I believe it will compress more.

Alternately compress it twice. Or run higher compression on menues and dump un-needed audio/subs. This movie will fit on 1 disk easily as movie only, but remember it's over 3 hours long and the qulity will suffer.

    Use Nero Recode.

It's DVD Shrink, by the author of DVD Shrink, only it has this added functionality. I imagine that someday we might see a new DVD Shrink, but not today.
