    greetings,
not sure if this is right area or not, but here is question.
i have dvds with a digital matrix mask applied to them and would like to be able to remove this from the movie and burn movie sans mask.
can this program be used to do this?
i am US based and do not intend to distribute the altered movie, only to remove mask for my personal use.
also, if the dvd files are encrypted how can this program do that-
again i wish not to pirate or break any laws only to rectify the issue of the digital mask.
please respond if you have any information on this.

  2. I'm not sure what you mean by "digital matrix mask". If you mean "encryption" and you want to remove it from a DVD, then ffmpegX is not able to do it, but there are other programs able to do it. Their use is not legal in the US, even if it is for personal use, though it is in other countries (eg. Finland).

this mask is a digitized "blocky" area that hides stuff so that it cannot be seen.
i have japanese dvds that block out areas of a persons body(naughty bits)
because of the laws concerning obscenity in japan.
here in the US there are no laws concerning this, therefore in US it is legal to see naughty bits....
i want to see the naughty bits!!
    LOL.
i have heard that it can be removed but have found no info from my google searches as of yet.....
