  1. Ok, im new at this for sure (just started the other day) but ive been having some weird problems with DVD X COPY Platinum. Its happened to me while using X Copy, and X Copy Xpress. I rip the movie im backing up to the hard drive and all works fine. Then I go to actually burn the movie, and it starts off fine, but usually within a few minutes the program freezes. It wont let me do anything. I try to click the (X) in the upper right corner to exit, but it tells me to cancel first. Problem is I cant cancel because I cannot get to any menu. When it freezes, it says its finalizing the DVDR, but theres no way it can be since it hasnt gone all the way threw the burning process. I cant even restart the computer. I have to turn it off with the power button. Its pretty bad. Ive already wasted 5 DVDs on 5 different movies that didnt work. Anyone have any idea what the heck is wrong here. Like I said im new, so any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

That sentence pretty much sez it all concerning DVD x Copy.

The problems with this software are way too numerous to mention here, but suffice it to say....that once u do figger out how to get it to work, you'll be disappointed with the results.

My suggestion is to drop it, and go the DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink route. Both are free, and are much more reliable and easier to use than DVD x Copy.

I havent had a problem with DVD Xcopy, I burn them DVD to DVD, no HD involved.

I think there are so many variables in the burning process that no two people will achieve the same results unless everything is identical.

  4. Hey Gunny how do you burn DVD to DVD without the Hard drive with X copy Plat? I wouldnt mind trying that.

As far as Shrink goes, I had early problems with that, and DVDFab, and numerous other freeware programs about a week or so ago. The whole reason I bought Xcopy was because every freeware program I downloaded didnt work at all. I would LOVE some advice from you pro's out there. I know alot of you are all for decryp, and shrink, but when I tried shrink I had problems. Maybe ill try it again. Shrink places it on the HD, and then what do you use to burn it?

By the way I really appreciate you two helping me out here.
