Ok, I'll make this short and to the point.
I had an ATI Radeon all in Wonder, came to the same problems I am having now, even after a Fresh format, and driver update, here's the new deal.
I know own a Avermedia DVD EZMaker PCI card (the new model) which seems to be highly suggested for a bang for the buck card on this page.
I have 256 MB Kingston RAM, a 7200 RPM Samsung 80Gb Hard Drive, and a Dual 1000mhz AMD MP Asus mother board with both CPUs installed.
So I SHOULD NOT for any reason be under powered I'd imagine, on top of that NO apps are running in the background.
===============
I bought a copy of DVD X Maker from 321 Studios (bloated) and am testing out my friend's iuVCR.
What I want to do is simply enough record a VHS tape via the composite port on the video capture card, and burn it to DVD. But the problem is that when I try to capture at 640x480 or above, the file size becomes VERY FREAKING HUGE, like 400Mb per every 10 seconds or something like that. I begin to loose frames within miiseconds, when I play the video it just hangs at a screen (if it plays at all), and then plays the audio only.
I tried to lower my standards to 352x576, but that gave me the vertical version of Widescreen if you know what I mean, and 352x240 just looks grainy as heck, NOTHING like the original VHS tape.
This anyhow is my attempts in iuVCR which everyone seems to love to use with this card, VDub would not capture frames claiming my card or something was not configured correctly (I was following a guide), and then there comes DVD X Maker, which came with NO instructions, I goto to caputre a video and the sound freaks out into this LOUD loop of industrial noise 'remember Skinny Puppy?', much like that but not near as phun. :/
The video comes out perfect, but as usual it locks up on a frame and won't play all the way, and of course the audio is now industrialized rather than normal.
Any friendly advise will be helpful aside of those suggesting getting new hardware which is not an option.
Please try to stick with the programs I am using too.
Thankx!!!
