I'm having some problems with Verbatims 4x -R (The MCC ones)
I've tried Nero and RecordNow (latest versions) on my NEC-1300A (with latest firmware) and on reading back my dvd it give errors about 98% of the way. If I keep the image to < 4GB all seems ok.
Are the errors due to bad media? If its due to bad media, is there something I can run on the blank media to check it before I burn it. Seems a bit of a waste burning it to find out of its bad.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Try using a dvd rewriteable disc first. If it burns and plays fine then it could be the Verbatim's disc. Check Herrie's site for some tips.

I've tried rewritables - works fine. On the verbatims about 3 out of every 10 burn with no problems.
Thanks - I live at the herrie site
My feeling is that its the verbatims....and I thought it was a decent brand -
I've had the same problems with the same media. Verbatim isn't what it use to be. I'm much happier with my Riteks.
