Hi, I have captured some video with my AIW. I captured using the .VCR codec and then exported to MPEG-2. I am getting shaky video when I play it back on the TV, but not on the computer. I have a feeling that it is because of the Interlaced or Non-Interlaced, Am I wrong? is it something else? What are the proper DVD settings?

  2. The shakey video is due to the wronge field order and is not due to interlacing.

Also, you want interlaced for DVD.

Sorry if I sound like an idiot but how do I fix the" field order" Is it something that I do when I capture? Because if so I might have really screwed this video up. The Original has been erased

  4. To find the correct field order, use TMPGenc in wizard mode. It will scan your captured file and figure out what's best. When the field order is wrong, scenes with movement will shake, but ONLY on your TV, they will look and play fine on your computer. Many cards have a goofy field order, but on most, changing it at the capture software does not fix the problem, so simply use TMPGenc to match the correct field order when you encode and you should not have any shaking. You will get better results capturing to an AVI file via VirtualDub.

    Use RESTREAM. It'll do a MPEG without a re-encode.

Yes, with an excellent Restream you can change the field order without recompressing, but you have to demultiplex the MPEG file first.
