  1. I am a newbie, and I have been reading as much as I can.
I backed-up my first DVD yesterday.

I used DVD decrypter to rip the disk
I then used ifoedit to create IFO's
I then used DVD shrink to remove unwanted portions
Then I used B's record Gold 5 to burn the VIDEO_TS directory.
This worked fine in my Sony DVD player.

Is it possible to use ifoedit to remove unwanted files?

    Any suggestions on improvement?
I also have NEODVDplus, but didn't find a reason to use it.

  2. Hi gregarpp.

    A suggestion:
Skip DVD Decrypter and IfoEdit, and rip/transcode with DVD Shrink (using "Open Disk").
If and when you encounter a problematic DVD, then use DVD Decrypter to rip first ("File" mode; select all the files).
