  1. Ok, here's the problem..

I have made a DVD in Encore with a menus, then I exported it to and .img file and opened it in Daemon. And the DVD works perfectly in Power Dvd.

Although, when i burned it to a DVD-R disc and tried it in my standalone, it said "unsupported". The dvd player is a dvd-recorder, so there should be no problem with the disc format (i have burned other movis on the same discs that works).

The movie was originally a VCD which I converted to 'DVD-PAL' in tmpgenc.

The audio encoding in Encore is set to Dolby Digital.

The strange things I noticed was when making the image file it said "Compatibility - PC based software dvd-players" and then when i looked in the image it only had the video_ts folder, can that be the problem?

Yeah, on my stand-alone player I've had the same error - Unsupported Disc or Data Error. I did the image exactly as you did.

Even when I've burned it directly do disk or with Copy2DVD (image and created folders).

    Do you know what helped?

What I did was export DVD folder and burn it with Nero (DVD-Video option) and my player accepted this easy.

I had only this problem with very complicated project (lots of menus, clips, motion menus, background menu music and motion menu background)... Other, much simplier projects are accepted by my stand-alone player OK...

Try this and write what happened.

This is normal. When you burn directly do disc it says: set-top stand alone player compatibility (or something similar).

Yes, it can be a problem, because some stand alone players need audio_ts directory on DVD. Nero will create it for you.

You are lucky, because I've had that problem just yesterday evening

And the solution with Nero was the last I could thought of - after Copy2DVD did not work I was out of ideas.

For your information - Copy2DVD was known as the best software do create stand-alone players compatible DVD, since yesterday - the best for me is nero - I have no idea in what nero's burning process is different than other software's one... I noticed that sometimes, after recording nero is 'making the DVD the most compatible with DVD players', which can take really long. I don't know what nero is doing with the DVD media during that time, but what counts - it's doing great job

But it worked, I'm glad that for you too
