Can anyone help me re the above. I want to buy this machine but I am unsure of this DVD-RAM thingie. I understand this disc is re-writable but would I be correct in saying this looks like a floppy disc? The reason Im asking is because my pc has a DVD-RAM drive (F but the disc holder doesnt look like it would fit a square shaped disc. Is the disc part removable from the casing?

My idea is to record onto this ram disc, upload it to the pc, edit it and burn it to a DVD-R. I assume I can do this using my pc drive or am I being really thick? Do I need to buy something to enable me to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. There are two types of RAM disk, with and without "caddies" which are the square plasit holders that make the disk look like a big floppy. Buy the disks without the caddy. The label will say "non cartridge disk".

  3. Just to add on to malaugh's post. The E50 will accept both types of RAM, with out without caddies. On thing about RAM discs is they don't like dirt. So maybe thats why the caddie is availiable.
