Over at abcdv.com i read about a program called DVstreamer that allows you to use your DV tape as basically a 13gb data storage unit.
I was wondering if anybody has tried this. Or how these tapes will hold up over time as compared to say DVD's. Was really interested in this as I have alot of projects in the 8-10gb range that I don't want to burn to dvd yet, but want to back them up incase of mistake on my part or h/d crash.
Any thoughts?
I'll test the software soon and let you know my findings.

Don't know if anybody is interested in this but I tried this with a 6gb file
First try got errors halfway through.. Tried a new tape, got all the way to the end but during the Verify process it said there were too many error's to fix..
Maybe my heads need cleaned? Time to try my Elura2 -
Yes interested. I'm might try this with a JVC BR-DV3000 deck at work next week.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
