Hello guys, i have some questions about converting in TMPGEnc. I have a couple of films, that have a framerate of 23,976. I am from Europe, so I have to choose PAL at the settings in TMPGEnc am i right? Now how are my settings if I want to create a proper DVD?
This is what i have now:
Video-tab:
Size: 720:576 pixels
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
Frame Rate: 25 fps
CBR: 5400
Video Format: PAL
Encode Mode: Interlace
DC Component Precision: 10 bits
Motion Search Precision: High Quality
Advanced-tab:
Video Source Type: Interlace
Field Order: Bottom field first (field B)
Source aspect ratio: 16:9 Display
Video Arrange Method: Full-screen (keep aspect ratio)
I gave it these settings, because it gives me the perfect view in the preview in TMPGEnc, and this is how it will display on my tv right? Well, i have only 1 problem left then: the framerate. I set it to 25 fps, because i tried it before with the same settings, but then with a 23,976 framerate, just as the source, but it is not accepted in TMPGEnc DVD Author. It says that only 25 fps and 29,97 is accepted for DVD-files. OK, i don't have a problem with that, but when i set it to 25 fps like i did, it gives a very little 'glitch' (don't know a word for it in english, hope you understand what i mean?) about every second. I know i have to do something else to fix it, but what? I saw in a previous post, this had to be fixed with selecting 3:2 pulldown? I tried to select it, but when i hit the start button, it says: 'The sampling rate is not permitted with selected MPEG-2 level. >Sampling rate = width*height*framerate.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, because i am almost there, and after the efforts i have made to get it right, i am almost going crazy that i just can't get it like it should be, so PLEASE, DVD-guru's, help me!
Thanks in advance for helping me out!!

It's the missing frame that cause the "glitch" ~24 to 25. You can use the 3:2 pulldown if you are making NTSC disc (~30 fps). Just use the Project wizard and load your movie. Later you can unlock the profile if you want to change bitrate or something. (Load > unlock) I thk it's harder to make it to PAL 25 fps. The only way I seen to fix this is to stretch the audio to fit the new length of the movie. Check the link below.
