  1. I recently downloaded some movies and i want to convert them to dvd. I figured it out allready how to do it with tmpgenc and tmpgenc dvd author but i have a question about the bitrate.

I use the CQ (constant quality) setting because CB gives a file to big and 2-pass VB takes to long. So i use a CQ of about 80 with a bitrate from 2000 to 8000.

My question: what is the most inportant in these settings: the CQ value or the min and max bitrate? Maybe i could use CQ 85 with 2500 to 7500 in stead of CQ 80 with 2000 to 8000.
So, whats important: the CQ value or the min/max bitrate?

  2. the CQ value is important. Increasing will increase the final quality as well as the filesize.
