  1. AutoShrinkISO creates an .iso image after DVDShrink is done transcoding the video files then burns that .iso with DVDDecrypter. This is all a 100% free solution.

Thanks to NYPlayer for programming it.

note: don't confuse this AutoShrinkISO with AutoShrink. Autoshrink requires Nero to burn this one doesn't.

  2. Thats what I'm talking about!

Does it keep the VIDEO_TS too?

  3. when you click backup in DVDShrink the TARGET folder is automatically set for you...DON'T change it....example

    d:\CASTLE_IN_THE_SKY\VIDEO_TS

  4. Yeah, I see it now: it uses ImgTool Classic to do the job...

  5. no..actually it doesn't...it uses mkisofs.exe which is part of cdrtools GPL. However, coujo did modify mkisofs.exe a tad.

  6. Nice ..... I just finished backing up one with AutoshrinkISO.

No need to sit there waiting for apps to finish!

  7. I'm not able to download it to try it out. Is there another location besides mrbass.org?

    Thanks,

  8. ok new version is out ...well not really but it has it's own installer which installs to C:\Program Files\AutoShrinkIso
and mkisofs.exe and cygwin1.dll are included. So all you need are:
    1) DVDShrink
    2) DVDDecrypter
    3) AutoShrinkISO
    and your all set

  10. Amazing! I just finished backing up a movie using AutoShrinkIso.

So, DVDdecrypter is used only to burn the movie and DVDShrink decrypts the movie to the hard drive. It seems that DVDShrink takes more time decripting the movie than when using DVDDecrypter.
    Am I correct?

Perhaps is better to decrypt the movie to hard drive using DVDDecrypter.

You could however, there's no way it can rip dvddecrypter and start dvdshrink (well I guess it could be it'd have to be 1:1 copy). I think most people choose to re-author using dvdshrink for maximum video quality. So just manually rip it and then start up autoshrink.

  12. It worked fine.
First, I decrypted using DVDDecrypter manually and then open AutoShrinkIso, I gave it a label name and the process continued just fine.

    Definitely the decrypting was faster.

  15. AutoShrinkISO 1.5 is out
includes ability to include DVD Rom Content if you so wish. Also fixes win2000 shutdown when choosing Image_Only option.

  16. I just downloaded and installed Autoshirnk1.5, sounds like a great tool.
When I went to open it however, I just got an error message. Something about missing registered files. I read where it is suppose to have mkisofs.exe and cygwin1.dll bundled with it to make it run. Could these be missing something? I see them in the folder. Anybody know if I need to get something else to make it work? (yes, I already have DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink)
    Thanks

  17. Download IMGTool Classic that contains those files youre missing

If you get 'component comdlg32.ocx not registered error' .

go to http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ scroll to the bottom and download install-ocx.exe and run it . That should fix your problem.

  19. That was one error I got on one machine I tried it on, but the other machine I tried it on gave a different error. Something about missing a "mtisfk" file or something like that. I can't remember . . . and of course the machine that gave that error is not the machine I am on now.

  20. Spmc,

make sure you check your program paths.

    the Miskofs.exe path should say ...C:\Program Files\AutoShrinkIso\mkisofs.exe

  21. Okay, thanks for the help. I have downloaded all things suggested and will try to get it running on my other machine later. I will also double check my paths.
    Thanks again.

Please let us (well, me) know how it comes out, I'm going to try it later and you might save me some work. Thanks.

  23. The error message I was getting was missing "mscomctl.ocx". After I installed the ocx patches I was able to get into Autoshrink. Great . . . But now I get an "Isoshink runtime error '76'". It states "path not found". I have checked my paths to Decrypter, Shrink and mkisofs and they appear to point to the programs on my machine . . . but no luck. Any ideas, of where I went wrong?
    Thanks

Click on program paths and browse to each program. Save settings. One of them must not be right. Also make sure to set ur DVD rom.

  25. Thanks, I have checked, double checked, triple checked, etc. . . several times now. I'm missing something. I have browsed for the correct paths as well as entered them manually. I feel confident that I have the paths correct but I keep getting the same error.
Is it necessary that Shrink, Decrypter, and mkisofs, all reside in the "programs files" folder? Decrypter and mkisofs both reside there, but shrink resides in "my documents..."? Should I move shrink to my "program files" folder and reset the paths or will that make no difference.
When you say "set the rom" what do you mean exactly? I want to make sure I don't misunderstand.
    Thanks for all your help.

By putting DVD Shrink in your documents Folder depending on your user name the path might be too long. Move or copy DVD Shrink to the Autoshrink Folder. Then set the path it will work then.

  27. Arrrrrggggh,
    I am sure that whatever is going wrong is my fault, so I continue to ask for some help. Here is what I have tried so far;
I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times. I have copied both Decrypter and Shirnk into the Autoshirnk folder and set the paths to there. I have set my ROM drive as both my writer and reader just to see what would happen. I have set my shrink files and image files to both my hard drives but still no luck.
I am starting to get discouraged.
More help or ideas please. What am I missing?
    Thanks so much.

set your paths exactly like so ....then try it. Make sure you have dvdshrink in that location too.

  29. I usaully rip first with DVD decryptor the use DVDshrink seperately to Re-Author. I noticed when I used DVD shrink to Decrypt and Re-author directly from the DVD drive, my computer usage is dangerously high becuase its running the Deep Analysis plus reading from the Drive simultaniously.
