  1. I'm completely new at using my tv-out card to play videos on my television. Can anyone offer any pointers, setting, or things to do/watch out for in doing this?

Any step-by-step instructions would be appreciated.
Software used (until you guys/gals enlighten me):
    DVD Decrypter
    DVD Shrink
    CopyToDVD
    Nero 6
    VCDEasy
    TMPGEnc

  2. Do you have your ATI manual? I think it said in there how to use the TV output.

I have the same card, but never bothered with TV out, heck I never even setup my remote controll
Someday I may do that, but I already have 20 remote controls when you count the Fan and Airconditioner!
I use like 3 of them, TV, DVD, VCR!!!

As for the tv display, just setup the TV out like the manual says then play full screen, or use it as a dual display and drag the video over onto the TV.

  4. yea i know this post is like 2 months old..but if anyone sees it... i have an ati raedon (7500 i think) and im using the composite output...my mpeg 1's and 2's work..but not divxs....

I have the newset free version of divx downloaded....doesnt work...
the videos just play (without audio i tihink) and just show up as a blurry black screen or someimtes a greenish screen...

Ya think this has to do with the actuall output or the decoding (codec)??????

\I will try it on a monitor and see what happens..

  5. ATI cards will only play Directshow stuff on the primary screen - If you have mistakenly set up your TV as a secondary screen, it will result in a black screen when playing Divx or games.

Notice that in the advance settings there are 2 buttons for each screen you set up, one is round, the other one is square. You have to switch both your pc screen and tv screen (ie tv out) to display as primary screens.

    Cheers
