Hi, I have a problem loading a .mpg file in virtualdub. it won't open.
I remember there was a trick to convert mpg to avi in virtualdub, by creating a blank .vob file, in the vob file you write a few lines directing it to the mpg file, then you load the vob file in virtualdub and convert like normal, it works by streaming the mpg..
If anyone remember this method, please post it here.
    TIA

Just get a copy of virtual dub mod it has mpeg support and you can open up mpegs and save them to avi

Virtualdub can load mpeg fine, it's just that this one mpeg is corrupted, it's watchable on window media player, but virtualdub/virtualdubmod is unable to load it, I've had this problem before and the .vob tricked worked like a dandy, I just can't recall all the steps

I had the same problem with an mpeg it wouldn't open. I tried demuxing the video with tmpgenc and oped this video and it could open that one. This was without the sound, but perhaps remuxing would have fixed the problem? Worth a try.
