    Hi:

I've been trying ffmpegX, and I've problems converting a divx to a divx: the sound is out of sync!

I have a G3@500MHz, which is too slow to view most divx that I find. So I usually try to use ffmpegX to convert from a higher bitrate & resolution divx to a lower one, say from a 640x360@1200kbps to a 512x288@800kbps. I usually use the ffmpeg engine, not the mencoder.

Sometimes I leave the audio as it is (usually ac3@48kHz), others I convert it to mp3@44.1kHz and 128kbps.

The usual result is that the audio is totally out of sync. It is much shorter then the video.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I think I have all the options correct. I never deliberately change the framerate.

Any suggestions? Is there a tipical newbie mistake that I might be doing? I really like ffmpegX, and for $15, it is really cheap. But I don't want to register as long as I don't understand what's wrong in my conversion process.

    Thanks

Is the sync problem present in both cases?
