  1. How do I burn a vcd? ive tried dozends of programs (vcdeasy, alchohol 120%, nero, easycd creator) and every time ive done it, the disc will skip near the end of the track. I dunno what else to say, it always happens what could be causing this?

Try some different/better CD-R's, try burning at a lower speed like 8X.

  3. ok, i think i may have found a probem, evey single file ive tried, and by this i mean ive gone through the whole process of getting an ogm file, using graphedit to amke an avi, then using virtuadub to extract the audio and tMPGEnc to put it back together, now each file'd first frame is a black screen that says:

    "Warning: Nothing to output
    BFrame Decoder Lag"

Could i have gone wrong somewhere, would this cause my problem?

BTW I have no bad frames, i scaned it, and i always burn at 4X.

  4. Ok, i was able to get rid of that error, but now during the credits of the last track on the disc, the picture gets messed up, and the sound starts to make these weird beep-like noises.

Its watchable, though, but if i made something that took 80min the ending may be messed up, i burned this one with nero ar 4X, perhaps i have another TMPGEnc problem, but im still not sure what, or maybe theres a better program to make vcds, i heard nero had soem issues.

View the mpeg before you burn it, if it plays OK on your PC then it has something to do with your burner/media/dvd player. It helps if you can narrow down the problem by trying different media, playing in a different player etc.

TMPGEnc works very well for many people and doesn't usually cause the problems you describe. As for nero, use it for burning only as the mpegs it creates are poor quality.

  6. "and i always burn at 4X."

How old is your writer/media?Modern writers and media produce the fewest errors when burned at 16-24x.
Have you upgraded the firmware? www.rpc1.org
Use CDSpeed to see if the problem is the media or your player. www.cdspeed2000.com

hi .. i do not if my not will help you much... but i will try... i gone through try and error.. long time ago.. and have many problems ... I found one great solution VirtualDub.. .it always tell me what is wrong with my file... the usually use it to compress and correct it... never ever have any problems.. to later burn svds ...using nero..
trick is also with nero .. you cannot use anything else if you do not have powerfull computer while burning...if you do.. you might be cut with errors.. that happen.. i got really weak puter. . cause cannot efford .. powerfull one.. an it works great.. but still if you use high speed you might experience problems i usually burn 4 up to 16.. if use 32 vith long video .. got cut.. sometimes too.. 32 i use for small files only...
I found VirtualDub.. great if had no idea what is going on.. if i can enter movie there and it works.. then simply compress and save again.. any file saved with dub.. never had problem...
i chose usually mpeg codecs.. but you can whatever you need...
    hope that will help..

  10. ok, so i made a new cd, and... same problem, messes up at the very end. I think i only get this problem when im working with files that have been converted from ogms to mpgs.

you see, i was trying to get inuyasha eps onto a vcd, the one time it worked was on a cdrw, but now i tried another 3 episodes on a cdr and boom, same problem. I tried a few family guy episodes, and they seemed to work quite well, any other possuble solutions|

Oh and i tried that cd speed program, i couldnt really figure it out though, i ran it but i dunno if it did anything exactly.
