I made a copy of my sons schoolplay on vhs to a standalone dvd recorder. I'm using TMPGEnc DVD Author and want to cut out some mistakes and make chapters, then make copies for the family. The problem I'm having is the video is on two VOBs, VTS 01 1.VOB and VTS 01 2.VOB. How can I join these so I have one file so that I can have one video that I can edit and add chapters too.

Thanks for the reply andkiich. I just got this recorder yesterday so I have some learning to do. I have been playing around with this half the night and finally found a easy way to make it work. What I first did was in explorer I copied my dvd to the hard-drive then tried to author with TMPGEnc DVD AUTHOR but I was getting two VOBS I could not join and add the chapter mark where I wanted. What I finally found that works was to let TMPGEnc DVD AUTHOR copy the dvd to my hard-drive. Now I have the PTA meeting on chapter one and the school play on chapter two. With the stand alone recorder I don't have the dropped frames or the top folding over like I did with my 8500 AIW Radeon Card. The VHS is old (1987) and not the best quality.
