the movie plays but freezes

I used DVD Decryptor to copy a DVD-5. This worked fine and plays in my Phillips 634. Only the movie freezes sometimes. I also have this when i use DVDShrink or Nero.

I used DVD-R and DVD+R. Burned at 1, 2 and 4 speed with my LiteON DVDRW.

Someone knows what could be the problem of this ??

Try a different DVD-R/+R brand.

As others have already stated, try some better media. Most skipping and pausing issues are caused by bad media.

The experience I have with Emtec is that it is complete crap. I don't know about DVD-R's, but they are the only brand of CD-R's I've ever had any trouble with. Had to burn 16x discs at 10x or Nero would crash, a CD-player I have sometimes refuses to skip track on them and some of the discs have after a few years small 'holes' on them (like small dots where there no longer is any data) leaving the CD's unreadable...

IIRC, the last lot of Emtec (BASF) CD-R's I had were CMC Magnetics, which leave a lot to be desired. I had two types in the same pack - the ones with the shiny top were fine, but the ones with the frosted top were rubbish unless I burnt them at 4x or below and even then, they took an eternity to read in every CD-ROM drive I could get my hands on.

CMC have improved a bit since then to be fair, but I came across a pack of PC Line discs a few months back that were CMC, and my recorder dropped back to 16x when faced with them but were still unreadable if recorded at anything above 8x. I do not use CMC media out of choice because my experience of them suggests there are vastly superior manufacturers out there for little to no difference in cost, and I don't think I should have to verify every single disc I produce due to lack of confidence in the product.

I have never used their DVD's though, and I can't say I'm in any rush to either following that fiasco.
