My only thought is that the VCD you are creating is not 100% VCD compliant.
    Is it?

  8. if it wasnt 100% VCD complaint then 1. nero wouldnt let me burn it and 2. it woulnt play on my dvd player

Why dont you be more specific in your posts, like give all the information that may be relavent in the beginning. What do you use to encode etc? If the VCD is 100% compliant then it would play OK wouldnt it - Unless your player is messed up or the player doesnt like the media that you use.
Does the audio speed up and slow down or the video? Or both?

Hi i also have a Dxr3 encore. I got the same problems. When I convert a avi to mpg, and play it on my encore DVD the picture hack, and the audio gets out of sync. when i play the movie in my mediaplayer it works perfect...I red in this forum about drivers from Real Magic Hollywood+.To use with the encore. With this driver it would be possible to play Avi's too.?? Have downloded the drivers, but not installed them....(Big Krasch..*smile* )If you search for Encore you find these replys yourself..
    Excuse for my bad english....(smile)
