    Does anyone know of a dvd player which plays both Ram and -R/RW

    $32 here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-130-019&depa=0 for a DVD drive. If you're looking for a DVD player that will playback DVD-Ram I can't help you (my Panasonic E50 recorder does DVD-Ram).
