A06 / XCopy Express not burning on DVD +R's

Installed the A06 last week. Originally had an issue where a DVD would lock up my PC (1.7GHZ AMD, 1GB RAM).
I uninstalled all my DVD software and just installed the XCopy Gold package.
XCopy (non express) would work on DVD +R's. XCopy Express will burn succesfully on DVD -R's. I have verified this with different brands of media.
Any suggestions would be appreciated? So far Pioneer has not gotten back to me. I'll try 321 studios later.

Pioneer blamed 321 Studios.
321 said that the unit needed a firmware upgrade.
I went to a www.firmware-flash.com and found 3 different firmware upgrade executables. 2 would not load. The third had no effect.
321 said that the computer was not recognizing the drive as a +R drive (then how can XCopy burn to +R's but Express can't?).
I called Pioneer. They now say its the media (I have tried Memorex and KHypermedia). They recommended TDK.
Anyone experienced this?

I ran into this same problem, and finally just ditched even trying and switched to Shrink. I must have burned 10+ coasters trying, gave up just not worth it.

I have similar problem . I use Plextor 708 and cannot burn +R with express but using shrink and nero +R works great emailed 321 and they say express willwork with +R
My disk when using my burner to read disk would gige message windows does not recognize format

by the way, 321 sent us an email with a software update and now the +R's will work!
