I have tried several ways to get my old 90minute Video8 movies to DVD. The only way that works for me, so that I can fit 2 per DVD, is using The capture software (MPEG1) that comes with my Pinnacle PVTV tuner card, using Sonic DVD4.5 to process the .MPG file and burn to DVD. Trouble is, the quality is pretty bad. Then I tried VirtualDub and Microsoft's MPEG4v2 codec - when I didn't get 'livelock' crashes, it produced .AVI files that Sonic refused to burn to DVD (it wanted to expand the 2GB .AVI file into a 7GB burn!! I also used DivX Codec, which actually produced the same size MPEG4 file as M/S, but of poorer quality. I am happy with the M/S MPEG4 output (any better way?) but I need some way of burning AVI files to DVD - Nero also would not touch them. I am relatively new as you can see, but can anyone help me please??? Many Thanks.
