  1. I just recently upgraded from a Sony CDRW to the DRU510A. I have been using SVCD's for quite some time now, but have never experienced this before.

Since I upgraded, I can not use Nero to burn disc images. When I do, Nero states that the burn was successful, but when I insert the disc into my DVD player or CD/DVD ROM drive to read it, it never reads.

After the burn, Nero Media Information shows "No Media inserted or Drive not Ready." I can burn DVD's and other "not-from-image" cd's fine.

Here is the weird part....If I use Daemon Tools to mount the disc image as a virtual drive and use CD-Copy in Nero using the virtual drive as the source and the DRU510A as the destination, it works fine, although it takes a few minutes longer to burn that straight from hdisk.

  2. OK....update. Formatted and reinstalled XP and Nero 6. Burning images works 3 out of 4 times, the fourth time states that the burn failed, yet the disc works in set-top and DVD-ROM on computer.

Also, noticed one other weird thing, when the disc completes, in place of the normal "Burn Process completed successfully" message, I get instead "Burn Process started at 24X". When I click OK, it closes the burn dialog and ejects the disc.

I have NO issues with burning a data cd or dvd, or copying, but when I try to select Recorder->Burn Image, it seems to go into Twilight Zone time.

Has anyone experienced this? I tried checking on Nero's website about this, but they say that the DRU510A is fully supported and has been for a few versions.

I had the same problem with nu 8x drive. I had to switch nero to disc at once 96 to get it to work at all but it still failed 3/4's of the time. My disc often got to the 99% or lead out then fail on disc at once 96 or not even start on normal disc at once.
