Hey, I tried DVD-Lab. i was searching for a program to make transition efects between menus and this works fine, but, i also need video background and animated thumnbails. When I put the video BG the links disapeared. and, i didnt find an option to make the animated thumbnails.
any clues to make the ani.thumbs easy?

  2. Only the newer version 1.3.1 does the motion menus well...1.1 doesn't do so well. 1.3.1 even walks you through the process as you make the motion menu...

I have posted the same question some weeks ago strugling to make animated menus. Started using DVDLab a couple of days ago and this posting came in really handy.

The instructions to make animated manus worked like charm. The AVI created appears to be uncompressed, but it's not really large and allows for no loss in quality and even faster compression.

I have found out that DVDLab is an excellent authoring program. Especially after having spent endless nights with Scenarist.

There are several bugs still in DVDLab but as I am on my 5th day of evaluation, I am strongly thinking of registering it. It can do wonders and fast authoring for simple projects.

Also, for more complex work (like mixing different aspects or adding subtitles) I am already trying out DVDMenu Studio from the same author. I can now create almost same quality menus for Scenarist.

And, also, I can use DVDLab to create a background animated AVI for the motion menus and use that as a background for Scenarist.

All in all, perfect program and really handy tool, even if all you want to do with it is motion menus...
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
