Hello
I've just finished ripping my X2 dvd with DVD Decrypter, and i shrunk it down with DVD2ONE 1.2.3 and for the first time ever, the burnt copy will not play in my set-top DVD player. I did all of the usual steps, but this is the first to give me trouble. My dvd player reads it and about 80% thru the authentication process it says "no play".
The DVD is in UDF format, with a VIDEO_TS folder with exactly 9 items ( DVD2ONE is very predictable ), with an empty AUDIO_TS. I copied the volume name directly from the original DVD ( X2DISC-1 ) and still no luck. I even tried reburning it, because the first time i was running some other apps at the same time. No luck. This has also happened to me with Terminator 3. Is there some specific format i'm missing? this will be like, the 30th DVD i've copied...i know how to do this.
Anyone else having problems with these two movies? Any help is appreciated...
TIA

Will need more info to help you.
1.What type of media are you using?
2.Have you been using this media or have you recently changed to what you are using now?
3.Do any other movies play in your stand alone dvd player that are burned on this same media you are using now?
4.What is the media code for the dvd's that wont play?
5.What program are you using to burn the dvd's?
6.And are you changing any settings before burning the dvd?

Also check the DVD Players section to the left and see what media is compatible with your player.

I am using TDK 2x media, which work absolutely fine with my set-top player. I've burned tons of DVDs with these, and I'm using Nero 6 to burn them.
I'm using a Panasonic s55 DVD player, and it plays just about anything. This would be the first time i've seen a DVD not play in it.
I've also tried using different media with no luck, and i've also tried it on another DVD Player. Funny thing is, it will play fine in my computer ( i know comp. DVD drives are extremely forgiving ). It even shows up as a "dvd movie" when i throw it in. Strange
I'm really thinking it has something to do with format. I've never changed the way i organize dvds, so the layout is pretty much standard. Empty audio_ts folder, video_ts. It's all the same. The dvds name is OK too, and it's using UDF format 1.02
i've burned a million other DVDs like this...it just happens to be THIS movie that doesn't cooperate with my methodology. Is it possible that T3 and X2 have some new kind of piracy prevention?
Let me know...-kamikaze
