Really hope someone can give me some advice on how I may correct this problem. Thank you very much.
When I reboot I get to the screen which has my name, I click on that and then it starts "reloading personal settings". Normally this takes about a minute and then I go to the desktop screen. Problem is now it is taking 12-15 minutes before it will go from the "reloading personal settings" screen to the desktop screen. I do not know why it is taking this long. I have not installed or uninstalled any hardware or software recently that may cause this. Can anyone lend any advice on what may cause this and how I may correct the problem. I really really appreciate your help. Also can I reinstall windows xp without losing info on my hard drive, if so please let me know how if you can. Maybe reinstalling windows xp would fix the problem but I do not know how to do it without losing all my hard drive info.

I don't know what your problem isbut I would recommend BootVis NT, a good start-up optimization (XP/NT only).
Do a google search to find it....
If you have the XP disc, in the Install Windows XP setup, it asks you if you want a "New Install" or an "Upgrade". Choose upgrade to just reinstall windows files. -
