I found a firmware update on the net (3.10) for my drive and I couldnt find any information on what this firmware update does or how to flash the drive with it. Anyone have any idea whether or not I even need this update? My firmware version now is 3.0. I dont want to mess up my drive but I also would like to use the update if it will make something better. Thank you to all who respond.

If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

I'm running the dvd300n 3.10 firmware on a NEC ND-1100A without problems. I don't know what's new from the 3.00 but presumably support for more media. The 3.10 available from the firmware page is a DOS flasher, ie you put it on a bootable floppy disk, reboot and flash.
