    I recently updated my firmware version to 1.03 on my Plextor 708-A. Now Im having some problems burning @ 8X with my 4X Matrix Brand DVD+r's which was never a problem before I updated my firmware. Is there a way to remove the new firmware version and go back to the default one? Or am I stuck ?

    On Plextor's website this is what it says:

    Notice: After upgrading to version 1.02 or later, you will be unable to return the firmware to an earlier version.

    You may want to download the latest WINDOWS ASPI PACKAGE DOWNLOAD. Here is the link:

    I have the plextor 708A w/ firmware 1.03 and installed the latest WINDOWS ASPI PACKAGE from ADAPTEC.

    go to cdfreaks.com under their forum section they have a section for Plextor. I read in this thread:

    oldfartjc posted that he went back to 1.02 from 1.03. You might want to pm and ask him how he did it or make a new post. Good luck
