I need help to find a video capture device that will work on my software.
Anyone want to test my software to see if their video capture device is compatible with it.?
It will help me a lot.
you can download it here (it just 2 mb) :
http://www.instashop.net/videoassitprosetup.zip
You can select (if it is compatible) your capture card in the Setting ->Select device-> Select capture Device window
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
I know that the PInnacle DC-10 and DC-30 cards work with my software but i need a device that work under Win Xp ( DC-10 and DC-30 don't work on XP)
I need a video capture device that do Video Overlay (able to loop the video Input to the Output)
My TV in/out on my G4 MX440 is compatible but don't do Overlay
Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to just use software that works with the card, not vice versa? Or are you a programmer pushing your program? I can't figure out which one.

I need to use a software that is specialized for my job.
I'm a Video Assist operator. I work on Movie and Tv comercial 35mm Film.
Video Assist is a technical position on a film crew.
Since film needs to be processed and printed after it's exposed, it can't be viewed until the next day.
Video assist refers to the video camera attached to the optical system of the film camera, and the technician (me) who records, and plays back the video image immediately. It is strictly a reference for the shoot day, as the real film will be available for viewing the day after the shoot, as dailies.
I try to build a digital Video Assist system for doing instant playback at variable speed and live editing. i need this software to do my work.
I can't use Adobe Premiere or other editing software for doing Video Assist.
This software is exactly what i need but i have to find a video capture card that support it.
I cant buy all video card to test it one by one.
Thanks

If it's a standalone package, I'll try it... if it requires any kind of installation... no way. My systems work great, I'm unwilling to needlessly install anything these days.

Nope, not gonna do it.. it requires an installl.. I'm not messing with it... if you can provide a no-install version, I'll give it a test...

alx3d,
Same problem with my pixelview playtvpro tv-card as the G4 MX440, no video overlay (able to loop the video Input to the Output). It's not easy to support video overlay when only having video input

hiptune?
Do you have tested my software with this card?
I know tha my software use AviCap32.dll Video for Window (VFW) to detect a capture video device.
I send a email to Pinnacle to ask if they have a video capture card that will support my software
Here is the reply from Pinnacle:
AviCap32.dll is a very archaic Microsoft generic video for windows API for capturing video. Microsoft no longer supports video for windows so you will not find any current hardware that uses VFW calls. The last hardware that I am familiar that used VFW was a targa 2000 using adobe premiere 4.0. You may be able to find a similar solution on e-bay for a few dollars used, but you'll be running windows NT.
Obviously we do make solutions for capturing and editing video. In the end, the limitation is going to be your custom software.
I hope this answers your question somewhat.
